A History

Draco had spent his Sixth year at Hogwarts bound to the Dark Lord, assigned to kill Albus Dumbledore. It took him all year and he suffered for it. He struggled, wept, and yet, for his family, Draco persevered until he succeeded. It was only at the final moment when he could not bring himself to kill the headmaster.

Professor Snape did it instead.

The Malfoy family suffered at the mercy of the Dark Lord. What should have been his Seventh and last year found Draco a prisoner in his parents' home. He kept close to Narcissa and grew sallow. When Lucius was freed from Azkaban and rejoined them, they lived in constant fear. Their failures far outweighed the small protection of Bellatrix.

Draco did his Master's bidding, compliant as he could be to keep his mother and father alive. However, the year took its toll and the defeat at Hogwarts, both for the Dark Lord's followers and for Draco personally, left him bitter, cold, and hollow.

The once arrogant smirk was gone, the steely gray eyes held only a flat and hateful quality. Harry Potter, Harry Potter, he'd always despised the filthy Mudblood and now...now and for the past two years the simple fact that Harry existed had nearly ruined the Malfoy name.

There was no recovering from the stigma of being on the Wrong Side, and Draco was tired. Tired of being afraid, tired of lying, tired of living for other people. He hated servitude, even though everything he'd done, he'd done for the only two people he loved. He wasn't going to lie. He was proud of what he'd done.

Description

Draco is eighteen, of age in the Wizarding World. He has a drawn, pointed face, sharp nose, and cold gray eyes. His hair is white blond and he's lithe. Draco has very few interests outside of himself, but a few are his family, Quidditch, and the dark arts. He finds himself without a wand, without any friends and without minions. He no longer smiles; in fact, very little amuses him, nor does much unsettle him.
